With so many negative stories surrounding the racial issues in South Africa, it is good to read about inspiring ones as well.
"No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite" -those were the words of Nelson Mandela, the man who made it his life's mission to unite all South Africans.
With Madiba's words in mind, Briefly.co.za was inspired to find a social media post about young friendships that blurred the colour borders.
Facebook group Positive Relationships in SA managed to once again share an inspiring post.
The post inspired other South Africans to share their own stories.
Lizette Grobler shared a photo, captioning it: "My daughter and her friend on their shared birthday."
Jolene Smith wrote: "My little girl started with a new school a few weeks ago. She didn't want to sleep alone and gladly shared her "doekie" to be closer to a friend."
