South Africans were moved by a photo of a kind man patiently and attentively playing with a little girl who simply wanted to come over and say hello while waiting at an airport.
The young girl’s father, Kevin Armentrout shared the beautiful story with Mzansi.
Kevin says that while waiting to board their flight, his daughter, Carter was being her usually inquisitive self, and decided to meet everyone around her, Briefly.co.za discovered.
She then walked up to a man waiting near her family. The man, named Joseph, brightly asked Carter if she would like to sit with him. He then kindly offered the little girl his tablet to play with, and proceeded to show her how to draw on it.
The pair struck up an adorable friendship and even watched cartoons together. Joseph even offered her snacks.
Kevin says the friendly exchange continued for almost an hour.
Kevin shared the story with the rest of South Africa because he was moved at how easily two people from completely opposite backgrounds could become friends and make each other’s lives that much better.
He added that this was the South Africa he hoped his child would live in.
“Watching them in that moment, I couldn’t help but think, different genders, different races, different generations, and the best of friends. This is the world I want for her,” he said.
Joseph, if this should happen to find you. Thank you for showing my daughter what kindness and compassion looks like. Continue to shine your light in the world."
Social media was overwhelmed by the sweet story and shared their views.
