Thug caught on video snatching a motorist's phone in traffic

A phone snatcher was caught on video stealing an unsuspecting motorist's phone while in he, or she, waited in traffic.

Thugs no longer hatch up criminal master plans - no, they only wait for the right moment to struck an oblivious victim.

On Sunday, South Africa Live posted a video on Facebook which showed a phone snatcher at work in Durban.

The video was captioned: "Driving while using your phone with windows open???"

However, Briefly.co.za gathered the thug appeared to be at the passenger's side, meaning he either stole the phone off the seat or out of a passenger's hand.

South Africans used the social media platform to express their concern over the crime in SA.

Rosalind Frederiksen commented: "Omg, so many thieves over there."
Pieter Rodney Koekemoer added: "It happened to me while siting passenger i wish the phone explodes in his hands and both his hands are of got no time for criminals like him i work hard for my stuff i dont get it free i hope the next time he does that a car hits him."
Lee Andrew wrote: "That's a hot spot for these type of criminal activities! opposite mc donalds old main road/soldiers way that vicinity is really bad."
