Video shows Wits student being manhandled – “This is totally wrong”

A short but somewhat shocking video was shared via social media showing a student being manhandled by a bunch of security guards.

The video was shared by twitter user, @Nelly_rego_More, and has had a polarising effect on social media.

Based on the footage, a student was laying on the ground while holding a blanket.

A group of security guards can be seen trying to forcibly remove the youngster and end up dragging him across the floor.

They lift him up momentarily and little regard seems to be shown for his safety.

The tweet included the caption: “Witness what Wits management permits security to do to its students.”

Briefly.co.za noted that sentiment differed greatly on the incident.

Numerous tweeps condemned the aggression shown by the guards.

The majority felt that the student’s actions may have warranted the reaction.
