Celebrities have taken to social media to join the debate on opening up opportunities for new faces in the saturated industry. Speaking on her radio show recently Dineo said:

"If people can't get into the industry they must try through the window or through some other way. You must open the industry for yourself."

These comments come after Thando Thabethe shared her thoughts, saying that people should open the industry themselves.

Dineo went on to blast those who criticise celebs for taking more than one gig.

"Don't be bitter. Just get better. If you want to #OpenUpTheIndustry rather, after you have used the hashtag, write on social media about the way you are going to open the industry for yourself."

Dineo's co-host Buji added that people think that good looks means an immediate ticket into the industry. He said acting has nothing to do with makeup or a “six pack.”

The debate has split social media, Briefly.co.za has previously reported that Lerato Kganyago let loose on social media with her opinions about #OpenUpTheIndustry. She did not pull any punches and exchanged a few words with a follower. The debate started after Lerato posted a tweet with regard to the manner in which people celebrate international celebrities doing the most but when the topic is about local stars, the debate is always rearing its head.
