A first-time mother in the US received the shock of her life when she discovered she was having two bundles of joy instead of just one. The doctors only made the discovery after the first baby was born and the mom was still experiencing pains, Briefly.co.za kearned.

31-year-old, Nicole Ziesesmer had opted to have a natural birth, without hospitals and medication. Because of this she and her husband didn’t have regular CT scans of her belly. Doctors couldn’t pick up that the had been two little blessings in her womb.

Her plan fell apart slightly when she went into labour too early. Nicole spent 45 intensely painful hours in labour before deciding to have a C-section instead of the natural plan, Daily Mirror found.

Nicole had delivered her first baby in a hospital in the US.

It was only when the nurses were finishing up the procedure that they noticed another little head trying to find its way into the world.

The second child was born almost an hour later.
