Leader of the African Transformation Movement, Mzwanele Manyi fired shots at oppositionary party, Congress of the People (COPE). Manyi shared a photo of a group of people eating at a small fish and chips cafe. The image was captioned “COPE gala dinner”.
Manyi joked that it “was a glittering occasion indeed”.
This followed South Africans on social media recently poked fun at the party after a photo of a humble presentation did the rounds. The photo showed COPE members gathered on stage, seemingly ready to begin proceedings, but the supporters were nowhere to be seen.
Social media users joked that the speaker was facing the wrong way, while others wittingly commented that there’s “More chiefs than Indians”.
Mzansi was not all too impressed with Manyi throwing shade at COPE, however.
Lee van Wyk questioned why politicians always berate each other, instead of sticking to addressing the issues the country is facing.
Others challenged Manyi, calling him a capitalist and telling him not to joke about food.
