Businessman, Philip Obin’s attempt to have women gushing at his ‘wokeness’ may have had mixed results. Philip took to social media to praise hard working women and to chastise the instagram culture of glamourising beauty and fuelling egotism with likes and retweets.
Philip shared some photos of a beautiful woman, asserting that his post won’t get many likes because the woman isn’t half naked, Briefly.co.za found.
“We tend to focus on girls posting pics glowing on Instagram feeding them with likes. But really this deserves endless RTs," he wrote.
Mzansi proved him wrong and liked the post over 4000 times. It was retweeted almost 8000 times.
However, many users also argued that the woman in his photos is not doing anything spectacular, simply doing a good honest job like any other person.
Other users were concerned about safety above anything else and argued that the women in the photos are exposed to many injuries as they lack the correct equipment and gear.
Some women felt that people should do what they want, and that there was no need for the comparison.
