Six days before her due date, Zoleka Mandela welcomed the newest addition to the Bashala family, baby Zenzile Mutoba Bashala, into the world.
Author and breast cancer survivor, Zoleka Mandela welcomed her fifth bundle of joy early yesterday. She posted a snap on Instagram holding her daughter, Zenzile Mutoba Bashala asleep on her chest.
She gave birth to her daughter 6 days before her actual due date. She took to social media to explain how she delivered her bundle of joy.
Zoleka said she woke up early yesterday before everyone else and was busy putting away the previous night's dishes when her water broke.
"I was in labour for close to 5 hours before Mr Bashala and I birthed our daughter."
She also added that although there were a few complications which resulted in the baby's incubation, but's she's doing well and enjoying being passed out on her mommy's chest.
The breast cancer activist, proved she is a strong woman and even fought off the affects of the epidural and complete exhaustion due to her excitement, she just couldn't sleep it off.
Zoleka paid tribute to the important people she lost in her life, to her granny, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and her two children.
"I am blessed much more than I truly deserve! Thanking God, my day one (my grandmother), my babies in Heaven - Zenani and Zenawe for my miracle!"
Zoleka has been keeping her followers updated with her pregnancy journey and as well as her health condition and fitness levels.
Five days ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Zoleka was preparing to give birth.
She posted a snap of her belly on Instagram and said she was ready to pop any day now.
