When Baroka FC won the Telkom Knockout two months ago, every one associated with the team was celebrating. But today, that win has left one man sadly disappointed. Howard Mashaba, a bus owner, is still awaiting payment from the football club.
The businessman provided transport for supporters to Port Elizabeth for the match where Baroka beat Orlando Pirates 3-2 on penalties to claim the R4m prize money in December.
According to the Sowetan, the owner of Xilumani Coaches, said that he is owed R570 000 for the 10 buses that he provided from Polokwane to the Eastern Cape.
He added that Limpopo's MEC for sport, arts and culture Thandi Moraka agreed, before the trip, that her department would pay for the costs.
"When I speak to the [MEC's] office, I don't get concrete information regarding payment"
Briefly.co.za previously reported that the club signed a new striker from the Zambian league recently.
