The time has arrived for the State of the Nation Address of 2019 and celebs and politicians alike used the event as a good excuse to dress up and show off with their red carpet looks. Everyone from Mmusi Maimane to Mosiuoa Lekota arrived looking fit to attend any glamorous event.
Celebrities and politicians attended the State of the Nation Address 2019 and they did us proud.
Many political figures and celebs wore outfits that would be good enough for a glitzy Hollywood event.
While fashion is not the most important part of SONA 2019, it does give those attending an excuse to look fantastic.
Briefly.co.za gathered snaps of the best dress celebs and politicians, and it was a difficult choice to make - there were so many awesome looks!
Some of our favourites were DA leader Mmusi Maimane and his wife Natalie, Deputy Minister of Communications, Pinky Kekana and COPE leader, Mosiuoa Lekota.
Without further ado, here are the best looks of #SONA2019, in no particular order:
Mmusi Maimane looked pretty snazzy in his suit and his wife, Natalie, looked radiant in a white outfit rounded off with a lovely handbag.
SA rapper and poet Tumi Molekane and his partner looked fantastic in their matching blue outfits.
Pinky Kekana, Deputy Minister of Communications, raised the bar in her feathery turquoise outfit. She felt the green of her dress represented the land in South Africa.
ANC stalwart Sizani Dlamini-Dubazana looked graceful in a lovely red dress and matching hat.
Mosiuoa Lekota looked quite debonair in his suit and was clearly feeling very good as he walked on the red carpet.
Angel Khanyile, who joined the government as member of Parliament in December last year, looked like she could attend a movie premiere with her gorgeous blue dress.
DA member and Shadow Communications Minister, Phumzile Van Damme, raised the bar in her shimmery golden outfit. Her red nails and lips were a shocking but nice contrast to her outfit.
The DA really went all out this year. Natasha Mazzone, Shadow Minister of Public Enterprises, looked stunning in a pink dress. She had matching toenails too!
Lucia Ochan, one of the finalists of Mrs Africa 2019, looked absolutely beautiful in a green-and-beige coloured dress. Her look is sure to be a favourite with many.
Terri Stander, DA member and MP, slayed in a breathtaking yellow dress that was in perfect contrast with her red hair. Wow.
