Cape Town has been experiencing a heat wave this week with temperatures skyrocketing to 35 degrees Celsius in Paarl on Tuesday.
On this day, a young man battled the blazing heat to push an elderly man home from the hospital.
He had already been pushing some distance but it seemed he had finally met his match in the form of a steep hill.
It was around this time that Nicolene Swarts and Mandi Erasmus passed by the 2 men.
The 2 ladies work for a local non-profit organisation named, HEART NPO.
They were on their way to deliver flowers to a cancer patient who was discharged from the hospital recently.
The NPO aims to assist less-fortunate individuals who cannot fend for themselves and celebrated its 1 year birthday on Thursday.
Mandi saw the 2 men and immediately asked their driver to stop the vehicle.
She sympathised with them struggling in the scorching heat and ran to their aid.
A beautiful moment followed as Mandi pushed the elderly man up the hill and Nicolene was on hand to capture it.
Mandi then offered the gentlemen a ride home and saved them an extra 7km walk.
Good Things Guy reported that they dropped the men at their home in an area known as “Die Skiem” and were left with big hugs.
