Mzansi disappointed by EFF’s ‘new dawn’ of good behaviour at SONA

Although president Cyril Ramaphosa may be thrilled that the Economic Freedom Fighter’s have abandoned their mission to make some noise and disrupt tonight's State of the Nation Address, the rest of Mzansi were feeling a little let down.

South Africans who were eagerly awaiting the EFF Commander-in-Chief to break out the bad behaviour in parliament, were seemingly left wanting as Juju and his comrades failed to deliver.

Social media joked that Ramaphosa’s ‘Thuma Mina’ joked hit Juju in just the right spot, keeping his party’s comments and disruptions at bay, as Briefly.co.za reported earlier.

South Africans on social media joked that Cyril managed to neutralise the loud and charismatic CIC while flaunting his humourous side, in an attempt to show South Africa that he is the leader the country needs.

Self-appointed Twitter CIC, @AdvBarryRoux, expressed his view that the EFF were simply “confusing the enemy” by saying they would disrupt proceedings but then deciding they will do the opposite.

He also joked that the journalists in the country who were waiting for some attention grabbing headlines to emerge from the address, will now have to return to writing more conventional news about the ANC’s plans for the future.

South Africans complained that they were bored by this year’s address, and questioned why the EFF didn’t make noise about some of the major issues occuring in the country at the moment, adding that the EFF’s behaviour was a “party pooper”.
