The State of The Nation Address 2019 was a big event, and the fashion choices of the politicians was a favourite talking point. Bathabile Dlamini, Minister of Women in the Presidency, certainly had tongues wagging with her dress.
Minister of Women in the Presidency, Bathabile Dlamini, had the social media streets buzzing after her short interview about her dress for #SONA2019.
Her answers to the questions she was asked left people with more questions, as reported on by The Citizen.
It sounds like Dlamini forgot exactly who dressed her in a black fully-beaded flowery dress for the evening and could only give their first names, Michelle and Mimi.
At least she didn't make Briefly.co.za's worst-dressed list!
Apparently, Dlamini has many fans, and they took to social media to say that they love her, that her interview was lit, and that she looked great:
She also said that the designers were at some point helped by the government, but it's not clear what they were helped with, only that they received assistance when they were still finding their feet.
It was made by two young women, they have their home … a sewing place. They’re seamstresses. You just buy the material or they buy the material for you. At some stage, they were assisted by government when they were still growing. But now I think they’re self-sufficient. Also, I brought them for other ministers because other ministers also depend on them.
