Pearl was born Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi on 13 May 1988 in Kwa-Zulu Natal. She's the eldest child and has 2 sisters - Prunella and Pamela.
Her mother sadly passed away when Pearl was only a teen, and she often says she wishes her mom could be around to see what she's accomplished.
During a Woman's Month speech in 2018, Pearl opened up about the abuse her mother suffered at her father's hand. According to a report by ZAlebs, she promised herself back then that she would not marry a black man because they cause their families pain.
However, as she grew up, she realised not all men are the same and changed her mind about this promise.
The entertainer studied Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand but put that on hold when her career started taking off. She did return and earned her B.A in arts later on.
In 2003, Pearl's modelling career became more serious when she was the first runner-up at the Miss South African Teens pageant.
From there she got to be on the covers of magazines, did music videos and adverts. Eventually, Pearl made it big and landed gigs on international shows.
Pearl's first known TV role was next to actress and singer Jill Scoot in 2009. She played Patricia Kopong in No.1 Ladies Detective Agency.
Between 2011 and 2016 Pearl was a presenter on Live Amp - SABC 1's music programme. After this, she played Palesa Motaung in Isidingo.
Pearl's biggest TV appearance was when she appeared in Quantico, the American drama thriller.
Our girl has 4 movies under her belt. In 2015 she made Tremors 5: Bloodline; in 2017 she made 2 films - Kalushi and Catching Feelings.
In 2018 Pearl appeared in The Scorpion King: Book Of Souls.
Pearl has been mostly private about her personal life but she couldn't keep it all to herself. She dated sports anchor Walter Mokoena and they have a child together - the beautiful Thandolwethu Mokoena.
Her other big relationship (that we know of) was with Robert Marawa. They kept their relationship very private and got engaged in 2016. Sadly, they called off their engagement in 2017.

Recently, it has been rumoured that Pearl is dating American NBA star Serge Ibaka. It hasn't been confirmed yet.
Pearl is best friends with DJ Zinhle, and the two are closer than two peas in a pod. They're often setting #RelationshipGoals.
