Started from bottom: ex-carguard celebrates 10 years as estate agent

Sekestina Munyaradzi is a successful real estate agent in KwaZulu-Natal. As he celebrated having been in the industry for a decade, Munyaradzi proudly recalls how he worked as a car guard outside the agency’s offices ten years ago.

Selly used to guard cards on Tyson Properties, a real Estate Angency’s street in Durban. Thanks to his bubbly personality and good work ethic, Selly started working for the company, tending to the gardens and running errands.

Selly and the personnel at Tyson soon became friends. Recognising the young man’s hard work and integrity, the company hired him for roles with increasing responsibilities.

He started doing stock takes and was promoted to a head position, managing stock.

Working in administration with steadier income was a great relief for Selly. But Selly had his sights set on something bigger. Working in administration presented him with the chance to work towards becoming a licensed real estate agent, Briefly.co.za found.

Owing to his determined nature and refusal to settle for less, Selly is working towards being a top agent and being able to afford a car and his own property.
