- A police officer was praised on social media after he went the extra mile to help save a farm, which caught fire
- The cop reportedly saw smoke coming from the farm and he went and alerted the farmer
- However, he took it another step further and drove to the fire to try and put it out
A farmer, who has been identified as Grant Clack, took to social media to share how a cop helped save their farm.
According to Clack, the cop saw smoke coming from the farm when he decided to help. So, he drove up to their home and alerted them before driving to the fire to try and put it out.
Clack's post read:
"This policeman drove into our farm this morning to notify us that he had seen smoke in one of our orchards and was concerned."
"We where frantically trying to get our water cart hitched at wich point he loaded up some of my staff took our beaters and drove off in his police van to startbeating the fire!
"Wow way beyond his call of duty. Thank you sir we really appreciate all your help. Big ups fot Tulbagh community policing."
Briefly.co.za gathered South Africans were inspired by the story and they took to social media to praise the cop.
Gco Mkuqwana commented: "This is a lesson in humility, dedication and commitment to one' profession as well as serving others without any reservation - this gesture and commitment by the cop, the farmer and his workers as well as the community concerned is a pervasive lesson that is exemplary and deserving of being practiced daily by us mere mortals at all times."
