Those attending the 2018 Grammy awards, lined the red carpet proudly adorned with white roses showing their support of gender equality.

Women had such an amazing year in 2019, with so many more women been represented as nominees and taking home top prizes.

The Grammys were held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.

Briefly.co.za learnt that the red carpet had the pleasure of seeing an abundance of sass, stunning trouser suits and rock-star glamour.

Alicia Keys

The 15-time Grammy winner, Alicia Keys, totally ruled the Grammy this year. She was seated between two grand pianos and stole the show!

Cardi B

Cardi B is the first solo woman to win the Best Rap Album. She made a stunning entrance dressed in a vintage Thierry Mugler couture gown from 1995. The dress was bold and was baby pink in colour resembling a clam shell.

Bringing her A game to the Grammys, Cardi B completed the outfit with long gloves in the same shade of pink and a cone of pearls as a headpiece.

Post Malone

Who ever said men cannot rock pink. Post Malone, nominated rapper, was dressed in a full pink suit covered in glittering stars and he rocked it.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus was out to have a good time and came dressed appropriately. The top female nominee pop star was dressed in a pantsuit and oozed class.

Michelle Obama

The former first lady, Michelle Obama, got people to their feet when she made a surprise appearance. This elegant lady appeared at the beginning of the show in a gunmetal pantsuit with a kimono-like jacket.
