Economic Freedom Fighters’ Commander-in-Chief, Julius Malema, congratulated the renowned young artist, Nelson Makomo, for his achievement landing the cover of Time Magazine.

An oil painting made by Nelson, Visions of a limitless future, was used as the cover of the prestigious magazine’s ‘Optimists’ themed issue, as reported earlier.

Juju saluted Nelson on his achievement. He praised the young artist, saying he is a national treasure.

“Makamo is a national treasure we must all be proud of. He is a shining star & a testimony of indisputable black excellence.”

Social media users were touched by the humility the artist showed at being recognised by the politician and support for the artist poured in.

On the other hand, man other users questioned why the EFF leaders was praising a black man being recognised by a western, capitalist enterprise.

Keeping the discussion light-hearted and moving away from the politics of it all, another man commented that Rasta was probably not taking the news that Malema is praising other local artists well.
