Four brave boys risked their lives without thinking twice in an effort save an eight-year-old friend who was drowning in a dam near Ceres. The boys rushed to her aid and performed CPR.
The boys were swimming in the dam when they heard some other children nearby shouting for their attention.
At first, the boys thought the kids were just playing games and joking with them.Then they saw that Donnalee wasn’t moving and knew that they were serious.
They said they remembered being taught CPR and performed it on Donnalee and saved her life.
They young heroes performed CPR for three minutes. They said her eyes when they performed CPR and they pushed harder on her chest. They added that she gasped her first breath, Briefly.co.za learned.
The NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute) shared a video about the incident to express how important it is that people learn basic first-aid, like CPR.
The boys had been taught the procedure in a Sea Rescue water safety lesson a couple of years ago.
South Africans expressed their pride and gushed about how quickly the young kids took action.
