The DA has just unveiled a new billboard that takes a stab at the ANC for the current power crisis in South Africa. Many are frustrated by the signage, saying that the DA often takes cheap shots at the ANC in their campaigning.
The DA’s new billboard has just been unveiled on Queen Elizabeth Bridge in Johannesburg and it pulls no punches when it comes to blaming ANC for their mismanagement of Eskom and their role in the energy crisis currently affecting SA.
eNCA reported that at the unveiling, DA MP John Steenhuisen announced:
"In South Africa, #LoadShedding is Job Shedding!"
The MP also went on to say that the ANC’s “complete mismanagement and corruption” is to blame for the crisis and that voters should ‘cut the part’s power’ on the 8th of May, when voting takes place in SA.
Briefly.co.za saw that, on Twitter, many social media users were disappointed in the billboard and scolded the DA for their anti-ANC rhetoric:
@African_Spring: “Why don't we tell people what we are capable of doing instead of being fixated on the ANC ? Another anti-ANC billboard? Are you kidding me??? ”
@Majesty_I: “DA busy with billboards that are pointing other parties' shortfalls instead of them telling us what they'll do differently in these big ass billboards is a clear indication that they have nothing to offer!”
But some thought that the clear message that holds the ANC accountable is just what SA needs:
@BonganiG12: “Now we have to suffer for the ANC not delivering! The DA has given them alternatives to save the power crises but they declined it! Spot on with your billboard DA well done! #EskomLoadshedding #OneSAforAll”
@SifisoMdlala: “Whoever is responsible for the DA election billboards is good.It makes the right noises.”
