Jean catches the attention and admiration from most people who pass by him on the streets of Wynberg, but it’s not just for his impeccable dress sense. Jean always has his head suck deeply in a book.

Jean looks on point, dressed in a tie and suit jacket. He is passionate about literature and loves to read. Needing a way to make a bit of money, Jean had the brilliant idea to open his very own little bookshop, by starting a small collection of books.

Locals around Cape Town recognise Jean as the guy with the bright smile carrying around a huge pile of books all day, Briefly.co.za found.

Showing the dedication to his project, Jean saved up some money to buy what he considers “the perfect pen” to craft a beautiful sign to advertise his bookstore, which is usually around the corner of Waterloo and St. Johns.

The avid reader has big dreams and is saving up his money so he can take a course to further his skillset.

Jean adds his hearty personal touch to his service, and if you ask him about one of his books, he’ll even give you a quick review.
