Earlier this month, Jonas Sobe shared shocking photos which showed locals looting a booze truck, Briefly.co.za gathered.

Sobe's post claimed the driver and his assistant were still in the flaming truck while the looters took what they can.

"An SABS truck loaded with unopened langers and ciders caught fire, and the nearby residents helped themselves with booze ignoring a driver and his assistant burning to death. What a shame we have in our country!" Sobe captioned the snaps.

However, another social media user, Michelle-Odette Opperman, came forward, accusing Sobe spreading lies.

According to Opperman, the incident took place in her hometown and the driver was safely out of the truck before people looted it.

"YOU ARE A LIAR. THIS HAPPENED WHERE I LIVE AND NOBODY WAS BURNING. There was only a driver and he was uninjured. This was in Olifantshoek, Northern Cape. Yes alcohol was stolen and nobody condones that. But DON'T LIE," she clapped back at Sobe's post.

We're happy to hear no one was burnt. However, people were still left divided over the pics. Some felt the actions of the looters were unacceptable while others added the company has insurance so no harm was done.
