DJ Cleo apologises for offensive Brickz post but refuses to remove it

DJ Cleo has issued a public apology after the outrage he caused by posting a picture with the convicted Brickz. He has, however, refused to delete the post.

Cleo said he did not condone what Brickz did, especially because he’s a father. But he has said that deleting his post would then make him guilty of intending to offend.

"I stand by my words. I am sorry to anyone who may have been offended by the tweet. The intention was not to offend."

He insisted that he did not say that Brickz was a victim. He was merely attempting to spread positive vibes in a bad situation.

Cleo took to Metro FM's Mo Flava and Masechaba show to reiterate that he did not regret his comments. He called for an end to the bullying instead.

The DJ came under fire yesterday after posting the picture with Brickz and what looked like a sympathetic comment. Briefly.co.za reported that Boity was shocked by the comments and slammed Cleo, sparking a heated online showdown.

Boity ended up being dragged by some who claimed she was "fake woke."
