Jackpot! South African walks away with R230m PowerBall record

One lucky South African walked away with a record-breaking R230 million on Tuesday after getting five of the winning numbers.

An unidentified South African won more than R232m in the PowerBall, eNCA reported. According to reports, the winner managed to secure five of the lucky numbers on his or her ticket.

Briefly.co.za gathered other South Africans, who did not win, were left devastated and they took to social media to complain.

Social media user @thwala_mpho commented: "Bring back live draws. This machine thing is nonsense. I could have bought bread with my money."
Another tweep, @Muziayifane, added: "eish, i had plans for this money. if the winner just donate 2million nyana nje, major part of my plan will be done, i mean major."
Sifiso Msezane, ‏ @Msezane_Sifiso, added: "Among other things the lottery is the most successful pyramid scheme worldwide."

Some social media users do not believe the lotto winner exists.

Khumbulani, who goes by the Twitter handle‏ @IamZOTSHO, commented: "1 winner with all that money??? What a scam. I think it's time we call for public audit!"
Hangwi Madzane, @Madzanehangwi, added: "I still don’t believe that this thing is real though."
