Video shows woman fighting back as criminals attack in broad daylight

Shocking video footage revealed how 1 woman was robbed in broad daylight in Cape Town.

The woman was walking to work down a busy road in Muizenberg, Cape Town.

Suddenly a BMW is seen stopping alongside her and 2 men jump out.

The men immediately try to assault the woman and her attempts to flea are futile.

One of the assailants get back into the car after nabbing the woman’s handbag, while the other tries to forcefully claim her mobile phone.

At one point, it seems as though the man was about to drag her into the car with them but the woman fights back strongly.

The phone falls to the ground and the robber grabs it and dashes back to the car.

The brave woman charges at the man in an attempt to recover her belongings but to no avail.

Briefly.co.za shared in social media users’ disgust at the brazen robbery.

Twitter user, @TeffuJoy, said: “Is what we have become – we watch, take pictures and behave like nothing happened?”

Others shared their disdain for disinterested motorists passing by.

One theory is that passers-by may fear becoming the victim of a staged robbery.

Some concerned South Africans even called on the president to take action and increase police visibility.
