The African National Congress is entering the race swinging by releasing a music album before the country’s elections in May this year.
The party has reported that the release of the album will be a “fan fest” for supporters and members of the public.
According to the statement released by the ANC; “the album resonates with the ANC’s struggle for liberation and it dabbles with different music genres from jazz to igwijo” which is Xhosa traditional music. President Cyril Ramaphosa will be present with top musicians at the launch of the album.
This is not the first time politicians in South Africa dabble in music. Briefly.co.za learned that uBaba would record his favourite struggle songs this upcoming year as part of the city’s integrated development plan.Their aim was to unite the people through and stimulate economic growth "either through music or sport or cultural activities."
