Simz Ngema is an inspiring woman, and not only because she's beautiful and setting body goals regularly. She has shown Mzansi how to deal with loss and grief and walk away stronger and more focused.

Despite losing the love of her life even before they could properly build their happily ever after, Simphiwe Ngema showed us that it is possible to recover from even the most devastating loss.

It's not easy and it doesn't happen overnight, but it's possible.

Simz lost Dumi Masilela, her soul mate, during a botched hijacking in 2017. Since then we have seen her deal with the hole that was left in her life and her heart in a graceful and admirable way.

She continued to openly and unashamedly show her love for Dumi

She sent a beautiful message to Dumi on his birthday that touched us all.

We started dating on the 13th of May 2014, Daddy passed away on the 16th of May 2016, we got married on the 20th and 21st of May 2017 and today 31st of May is your birthday.
It’s been one hell of a month but we soldiered on. Happy birthday Boongs I know for sure that today Nishona phansi in heaven. I love you, forever and always. #eternalcrush ️#GoodbyeMay2018.

She fearlessly admitted she needed her mother-in-law during tough times

Simz said she found strength in her mother-in-law and says that she has been a blessing. She added that she has found sanctuary in Dumi's family, especially in his mom.

She said that the devastating experience has brought them so much closer. It has not been easy by any means. Simphiwe said that she has had days when she just wanted to die, and she would stop herself and look at her mom-in-law and see a woman who is so strong and she draws strength from her.

She wasn't afraid to admit that she hit rock bottom

Simz dealt with her husband's death with grace and dignity. Not many people knew she had hit rock bottom. But she remained brave and kept pushing through her pain.

Simz has been through a very hard time as he grief over the love of her life has been very public. It couldn't have been easy. There's a reason why Simz is seen as one of the bravest young women in the entertainment industry - she's dealt with her loss with dignity.

TimesLIVE reported on how Simz opened up on social media how she was affected after Dumi's death, but also said that she is becoming a new person.

What most people don’t get is that when I lost my husband, I hit rock bottom. For me, at least, that was my rock bottom. I completely lost who I was and that was painful. I was a person that believed in a happily ever after and I believed that, that happily ever after would be given to me by Dumi.
Now I’m a person that still believes in a happily ever after, but I believe that you create your own happily ever after.

She bravely decided to take off her wedding ring

Simz managed to get social media users teary with a beautiful message she wrote on her Instagram account. By then it had been almost a year since her hubby passed away and the beautiful actress explained she felt it was time to move on and take the big step of removing her wedding ring.

We have a love-hate relationship, sometimes I look at you and I smile. Sometimes I look at you and my heart bleeds. It’s almost time to let you go and the thought of living without you makes me anxious but holding on to you is more painful. I promise to keep you safe and to one day give you to the woman who will be Kgosi’s heartkeeper. I will love you, forever and always.

She paid a beautiful tribute to Dumi

She made it her mission to complete his album and honour her late husband's dreams. She fought through her grief and worked hard to make sure Dumi's memory can live on through his music.

Eternal Crush was released on the 7th of December and features awesome tracks like Uphushiwe (which he sang to Simz on their wedding) and Yume, a beautiful ode to his wife.

There are 10 tracks in total.

Simz said that is was a rough day for her but that she is determined to focus on the positive. She is happy that she has finally finished the album.

She expressed that although it was a trying time getting there she has done it!

She still served goals

After joining the "short hair, don't care" squad, it was so nice to see the gorgeous actress living her best life and focusing on herself for once.

This queen has been slaying at life despite her pain. She decided to rock a sexy short style and she looked fabulous. Taking to social media, she revealed her stunning new look.

She focused on her career

Through her heartache, she managed to find the power to focus on herself again, and it showed when she focused on her career.

The actress took to social media to reveal that she would be seen on the popular TV show Isidingo.

Fans were happy to have her and welcomed her with open arms. In her first appearance on our screens in what felt like forever, we witnessed her debut on Isidingo. She played the role of Phindile Shezi who has returned to the Deep to plan her late uncle’s funeral.
