AKA’s recent Comedy Central roast saw his beef with fellow rapper Cassper Nyovest taking centre stage. AKA didn’t miss a chance to take shots at his rival.
AKA was grilled by a panel of celebrities last Thursday, including Papa Penny Penny, Mark Fish, Nina Hasties and his former nemesis Pearl Thusi.
Many chose to poke at the fact that Cassper was better than him, but AKA was ready with his clap backs.
The rapper had been waiting all night to take to the mic and unleash his jokes. He started out by calling Penny Penny's career a "scam" and even called him Cassper’s father.
AKA then went on to tell the panelists that they were all there because of him and claimed the country would be boring without him. He said if he wernt around, the industry would be dominated by a man who begged fans to buy tickets for his show – Cassper Nyovest.
"Imagine a South Africa without AKA. What a terrible place. All you have is some weird guy dancing with a bottle and pleading with people to 'please buy a ticket, bru’.
The two rappers will probably never be cool with each other. Briefly.co.za just recently reported that AKA shaded Cassper. Supa Mega held a mini Q & A session on social media where he was asked to rank his favourite local rappers, which was what drove AKA to actually say something nice about people other than himself. According to the ‘Fela in Versace’ hit-maker, Nasty C and Stogie T would be at the very top of his list when it comes to rappers in Mzansi. He didn't even mention Cassper's name.
