Legendary SA actress Moshidi Motshegwa opened up about the strained relationship she had with her on-screen daughter, Larona Moagi. According to Moshidi, it was difficult to work with Larona.
It's not uncommon for actors to not always get along behind the scenes, even when playing characters who are close to each other.
Sometimes, it can even be difficult to work with other other actors, as Moshidi Motshegwa has found, as reported on by ZAlebs.
She played the role of Naomi, and her on-screen daughter, Itumeleng, was played by Larona Moagi.
According to the veteran actress, it wasn't always easy to work with Larona because she isn't a trained actress.
It was very difficult to work with Larona. We can't cast people from Instagram, give them a huge role and not give them support.
Moshidi tried to find a solution to the problem.
I even said at the meeting(with producers) that Larona is struggling because she is not an actress and has been given a huge role to play. This is a craft. It is a skill.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Moshidi was also unhappy with The River's writers and directors.
I always challenged the directors, I phoned Gwydion ( Executive Producer and Writer) and told him this does not make sense.
Larona's parents would confront Moshidi after things got really bad off-screen.
This makes one wonder if the on-set drama wasn't behind the team's decision to cut Moshidi from the TV show's cast.
Moshidi was informed that there is no more story for her character, and she will no longer be part of The River.
