The R232 mill PlayBall jackpot has finally been claimed, leaving many South Africans eager to know who the lucky winner is. Mzansi’s tongues have been wagging since a winner was announced earlier this month.
The winner is from Cape Town and claimed his prize on Monday after hearing that the winning ticket had been bought at a OK Mini Market in Goodwood. The fortunate enigma selected their numbers manually and only made a R22.50 investment in buying the ticket, EWN reported.
The corporate relations executive of Ithuba, Khensani Mabuza said that the winner is now the richest jackpot winner in South Africa and has been flown to Johannesburg where their claim will be finalised after the Winner Services Process is completed, Briefly.co.za learned.
This involves identification, verification and confirmation that fraud had not occurred.
One family member is also permitted to accompany the winner.
Because winning such a substantial about of money is a life-changing experience, counselling is also provided for the winner.
The winner will undergo a Winner Services Process that will include an identification and verification process.
The owner of the OK Mini Market, John Rothman, was just as excited as the rest of the country and says he feels as though he won the lottery himself, News24 reported. He says people have been coming to visit the store where the winning ticket was bought and it has been great for business.
