Actress and TV personality Nomzamo Mbatha shared some exciting news with her social media fans about her receiving an international award in Los Angeles on 9 March.
Nomzamo will be attending the International Women Of Power Awards founded by Koshie Mills in Los Angeles on 9 March. She will be one of the Honourees at the event and will receive the Goddess Beauty award.
The actress will share the stage with American actress, Tiffany Haddish who will receive the Roar award and the first lady of Sierra Leone, Fatima Madda-Bio will receive the Warrior award.
She shared the post on her Instagram account last week and wrote: "The @diasporadialogues International Women Of Power Awards founded by @koshiemills take place in Los Angeles on 9 March and I will be one of the Honourees and receiving an award at this incredible gathering which seeks to create a world where the diaspora is more connected and equally progressive, uplifting, celebrating and recognizing women who have contributed to the betterment of who we are as a collective. Truly grateful for a seat at this powerful table of fellow Honorees."
She told Sowetan World that it's always a positive validation to be celebrated for your contribution in the entertainment industry. She said she felt humbled and sees it as an opportunity to implore others to do their part in making the world a better place.
Nomzamo is also a nominee for best actress in the SA Film and Television Awards for her role as Thandeka in Mzansi Magic's Isibaya. She will also honoured as a rising star at the 10th annual Wash Gala hosted by FACE Africa in New York on 23 March for her efforts in fighting depression.
Just over two weeks ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Nomzamo Mbatha and an ANC MP wore the same African dress to an event.
South Africans with an eye for fashion knew ANC MP Dikeledi Mahlangu’s dress looked familiar the minute they spotted it. This is because it was the same dress worn by media personality Nomzamo Mbatha at the 2017 BET Awards.
