South African acting legend Jerry Mofokeng is will soon be able to add the title 'doctor' to his name. He will be given a honorary doctorate degree in June this year at the University of Free State. The 62-year-old feels very honoured.
Jerry Mofokeng has been in the entertainment business for more than 20 years and will soon be able to change his title from Mr to Doctor.
The actor will be honoured with a doctorate by the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Free State.
Jerry feels very honoured that it comes from a reputable university, according to a report by ZAlebs.
Because it’s a reputable university, I know it’s not a favour, it is something well deserved.
I feel affirmed. I feel honoured and I feel recognised.
Briefly.co.za learned that Jerry will join the ranks of other celebs who have been honoured by local universities like John Kani, Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbuli.
Congratulations, Jerry! Keep making us proud of you and your achievements as one of our greatest actors.
This will not be the first time that Jerry will wear graduation robes.
He graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 1987 with an undergraduate degree majoring in acting. Jerry also got his Masters in Theater Directing in the United States the Ivy League institution, Columbia University.
