An 79-year old madala is proving that you’re never too old to learn as he is a first year BEd student at North-West University. Jacob Seboko is passionate about education and is determined to achieve his goal of obtaining a postgraduate certificate in education, so he is completing first year subjects.
Seboko is majoring in Education and Psychology and already has a Diploma in Adult Education as well as a BA in Public Administration and Management which he obtained over twenty years ago, Briefly.co.za found.
Accounting and economics are the madala’s favourite subjects as he thoroughly enjoys working with numbers.
He has been lonely since his beloved wife passed away and likes to keep busy by studying, he told News24.

Seboko believes that education is a lasting way to make a good life and to better the community. He says he dreams of a society where the youth consider education to be a priority over parties and politics.
He says that he feels respected and welcomed by his classmates despite the significant age difference. Seboko and is classmates have one thing in common and that is being first year students and wanting to make the best of their time at university.
