Management gatvol: Spar's no gemsboks allowed sign has SA in stitches

A strange sign at a Spar supermarket has caused a stir on social media and Mzansi is struggling to make sense of it.

One of the Spar supermarkets has allegedly put up a controversial bit of signage recently.

The sign indicates that no dogs are allowed but it also extends to cats and birds as well.

The part that most people found amusing though is that gemsboks aren’t allowed either.

South African Live shared the post on their Facebook page and added the caption: “Who is it that take their deer to Spar?” surveyed the comical reactions, which added to the light-hearted thread.

Antony Muuba said, “No Alpha Lukau at Spar, the chickens will be resurrected.”

Some took exception to the caption of the post.

Lucy Mars Putter said, “A gemsbok is not a deer dude. We don’t get deer in SA.”
Jeff Swarts added: “Gemsbok is a buck not a deer.”
Johan de Jager said, “Maybe it's a Spar deep in the Kalahari.”
