Veso Golden Oke, a transgender woman, has opened up on her life before and after her transition. From male to female, and the struggles in between, she says it is not unusual for her to be a woman with male genitals.
According to Veso, who is currently on hormone pills ahead of a transgender surgery “in few months”, though she gets sexual urges, her рenis does not function as the pills “reduces the size and the function."
Speaking in an interview on TV3's breakfast show on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, Veso said she has always been a woman though she was born a male and even at age eight she prayed for God to change her genitalia.
“I was medically born male but psychologically I’ve always been a woman so I expect to be addressed as a female.
"I remember I’d pray to God in the night that I’d want to wake up and my male genital is gone…,” Veso stated.
Growing up, life had been difficult for her because she was a boy with girls’ features and had to hide most times because she felt threatened.
Not only did she face difficult times outside, but from her own house as well, coming "from an African Christian home. At first, they thought it was a devil working”.
But when her “strict father” understood her condition and offered her support, her mother also understood and came along to support her.
Veso indicated the difficult situation she faced prior to her transition was no more because a lot more people, including her pastor and church members, have come to accept her for who she is.
She intends to undergo a full surgery to change her genitalia after which she will be interested in a relationship with an old rich man.
