A video that went viral on social media proves that Africa is the home of creativity and innovation. The video shows a group of farmers ploughing the fields using a motorbike, most likely because they did not have access to a tractor.
South Africans took to social media to express their pride that Africans always seem to find a way to overcome challenges. One user was particularly proud about how Africans found any way to work their land, Briefly.co.za found.
Many felt that if it works, it’s not a stupid idea especially considering how expensive tractors are.
Other users pointed out that it was a great idea but would be quite problematic if you had a 1000 hectares to plough through because it would be a long walk, while others questioned how much fuel it would consume.
Bryan Dube wrote that 1000 km on a bike such as a 125 cc Vuka and 200 cc, fuel consumption is 2.5 litre/100 km or 1 litre/40 km.
Luks Syimfinyimfi commented that he does a similar thing and hires GTI VR6 Golf for three hectares.
