The footage shared via social media which shows a police officer hitting an arrested suspect has gone viral.
There’s been a huge public outcry with many classing it as police brutality.
In the video, the suspect is handcuffed and at the mercy of the cops as he is struck on numerous occasions.
The video has had a polarising effect with many South Africans caught on opposite sides.

Saziso Majova said, “Lets not pull the race card. I think police need to act or klap if need be...tsotsi is tsotsi. I don't mind if the police officer is green or yellow. Crime affects all of us...klap him.”
Yaki Kadafi reacted: “No this is police brutality.”
Linda Majikijela Linda said, “Officers must use maximum force for these criminals, I’m sick and tired for these thugs nxaa.”
Fred Potgieter said, “Saziso Majova only way to get info out of them as well. The law today is for the criminals please wake up and support the cops.”
Abrie Burger noted the race issue: “The only reason this is making news is because it is a white cop. This happen every day. I've seen black cops at holding cells do far worse to people who were arrested.”

Bernard Ramoroke asked, “What do you enforce when the perpetrator is not resisting arrest and is apprehended already? He is cuffed already for heaven sake. Take him to the cells or solitary confinement.”
