Isidingo’s most loved and hated character, Lincoln Sibeko, is played by the brilliant Lindani Nkosi. He plays the part of Lincoln so well that many don’t even realise he is Lindani anymore.
Off screen Lindani is nothing like the infamous Lincoln. The greatly talented actor has been in the public eye for decades, however, he has always kept his private life private.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Lindani is calm, reserved and an extremely private man. It is very rare that you see him in an interview or even on social media.
The man keeps to himself and enjoys spending time with his family. He tries his best to avoid public events that will make a fuss about him and has no time for ‘the celeb life’, he does not label himself as a celebrity.
“I don't see myself as a star. I don't see myself as the best. I am able to deliver but if you think I am better than other people, I am not," Lindani said during a rare interview with TimesLive last year.
Lindani is so much more than what most have perceived him to be, he is not your ordinary celeb. He does not see himself as ‘being famous’ nor does he care much for how he is ‘seen in the public eye’.
Here are four interesting facts on Lindani that will give you a deeper understanding of the humble actor:
1. He once played the role of Mandela
In 2004 he played the role of Nelson Mandela in the film Drum and completely smashed it. This was one of the roles that piloted his career and made his talent known.
2. Soapie King
Lindani has acted in multiple Mzansi soapies such as: Generations, Rhythm City, The Lab, 90 Plein Street, dream World, Isidingo and a whole bunch more.
3. Naledi Award Winner
In 2006 he won the Naledi award for Best Male Performance in a Musical for his role in ‘Ain't Misbehavin'.
4. The man is a killer dancer
Lindani is a proud founding member of The Whizz Dancers. He did African, Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary Dance. He was also a part of a Physical Theatre Movement company called the Forgotten Angle Company.
