A video shared via Facebook has caused quite a stir and riled up many South Africans.

The video was shared by South Africa Live and shows 3 construction workers on site.

The men can be seen filling up a wheelbarrow with sand.

What bemuses many is the fact that 2 of the men fill the wheelbarrow but the 3rd man then seemingly dumps the sand right next to them.

Many also criticised the slow pace that they were working at.

Darryl Lemos said, “This is how our country is run!! What a bunch of clowns”
Day Vee Makhumula added: “I only see 3 ANC members playing with sand, it's it looks like it’s lunch time on there working hours.”
Thuso Mosuwe said, “This is probably an ANC approved R30mil tender.”

However, those with experience in the construction industry soon came to the defence of the 3 men.

Israel Michael explained, “They gauging to mix cement 100%correct.”
Cde Talent T Chitura added: “They are 100% right. When mixing mortar, there is certain quantity of sand /bag of cement required which is measured by wheelbarrow.”
Johan de Klerk lambasted the cynics: “It's clear the people who criticise the men haven't done an honest day’s work in their lives. They are measuring the sand, with the right tools, and if you want to put in a hard day’s work, this is the pace--nobody can do this physical work at Bolt's speed. A spade full of sand is heavy----do this once and you'll see. Nothing wrong in the video---the guy who filmed it is the clown here.”
