The annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) is one of SA’s most prestigious events of the year and 2019’s edition was a huge success.

This year marked the 13th annual SAFTAs and the ceremony took place at the Sun City Superbowl, hosted by Thomas Msengana and Pearl Modiadie.

According to Channel24, the theme for the 2019 SAFTAs was ‘Dare to Dream’, a celebration of all those creative thinkers and makers in the local film and television industry.

Briefly.co.za gathered that one of Mzansi’s favourite shows, The River, scooped up multiple awards, as did the popular Isibaya.
