Dad celebrates daughter's 4th birthday, thanks late wife for his 'angel'

For one dad, Sunday, 3 March, was a bittersweet day - it was the day his daughter was born, but, it was also around the time of his partner's death.

South Africans were left tearing up after a man shared a beautiful post on his daughter's fourth birthday. Briefly.co.za gaththatered the proud dad, who has been identified as Refilwe Makhaza, took to social media to share an adorable snap of himself with his daughter.

According to him, his partner died a couple of days after she gave birth to their beautiful baby girl. In an emotional social media post, Makhaza thanked his late partner for leaving him an 'angel'.

"#WhatItMeansToBeAFather Her Mom Passed After Giving Birth To Her Couple Of Days Later. Today She's Four, She Left Me With An Angel!" he captioned the photo.

Needless to say, the post touched the hearts of social media users and some were left crying.

Gontse Moremane, who goes by the Twitter handle‏ @That_BeautySpot, commented: "And now I’m crying."

Dez Mdluli, aka @Dez_Mdluli, added that his daughter was not just an angel, she's a beautiful angel.

"A very beautiful angel," Mdluli commented.
Another tweep, @AyakhaKhaka, wrote: "A very beautiful angel. Stay blessed Fam."
