The woman has since been charged with assault and is set to appear in court later today. Reportedly, there were previous protection orders out against the woman.

Following the assault, social workers reportedly intervened and took the grandmother to a secure location. She will stay at an elderly care facility for the time being.

The niece of the abused grandmother claims to be the one who shared the video which ultimately led to the arrest.

However, the niece expressed remorse that she had not revealed the abuse sooner. She added that she was reluctant to share the video for fear of her family's reaction, and also said the woman who abused the grandmother was in control of the gogo's finances.
