1. Mampintsha introduces the world to Babes Wodumo

Mampintsha converted the young Babes Wodumo from an unknown model into a musician in 2013. Her breakout single, 'Wololo', started a partnership between the two that would last for years. After the success of the single, Mzansi soon learned that the two Durbanites were also lovers. Their genuine romance made them loved by all.

2. Insecurity

Many started being concerned by the fact that Mampintsha was featuring himself in all of Babes’ songs. He even included himself in her Black Panther soundtrack, which raised a few eyebrows. This may have been an indication of his insecurity to let her soar solo.

3. Marriage rumours

Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha were rumoured to be married, then they were rumoured to be engaged. This came after they dropped hints on their social media, the main one being a photo shoot of Babes wearing a ring on her ring finger.

4. Masechaba intervenes

Briefly.co.za previously reported that Masechaba threw a spanner in the woodworks when she ambushed Babes during a live radio interview to tell her that she knew Mampitsha was abusing her. The muso tearfully confessed to the abuse. This sparked a strong, yet mixed reaction from South Africans.

5. The break-up

Soon after the abuse allegations emerged, Babes Wodumo decided to separate her brand from Mampintsha’s. She started her own record label and left West Ink Records.

6. Making up

Within a few months of the break-up, the pair were spotted 'cosying up' again. They confirmed the rumours by sharing pictures of each other on social media.

7. The final blow

There is not much to say after the video of Mampintsha hitting Babes went viral across the Internet. The horrific footage is yet another twist in what will hopefully be the end of the road of what looks to be a very toxic relationship.

We at Briefly.co.za hope that Babes Wodumo finds healing after this terrible ordeal.
