Babes Wodumo is set to break silence and address assault video

Bongekile Simelane, famously known as Babes Wodumo, is set to address the nation over the video that has been trending in Mzansi since yesterday. The Gqom Queen will be addressing the nation at about 10am this morning.

Babes has been silent since the video clip emerged of her boyfriend, Mandla Maphumulo (more commonly known as "Mampintsha") physically assaulting her.

The video was recorded by the performer after she went live on Instagram during the attack. Briefly.co.za has learnt that Babes Wodumo has been avoiding social media since the traumatic ordeal. According to her sister, Nondumiso, Babes has been resting and recovering. The sister went on to add that Mampintsha is currently nowhere to be found.

Politicians, celebrities and everyday South Africans have since called for Mampintsha to be boycotted and for him to go to jail.
