Taxi which 3 killed and 1 injured reportedly skipped red light

A taxi in which three learners were killed and another injured reportedly skipped a red light.

This is according to a spokesperson for the police.

The incident took place in Durban on Wednesday morning.

Police also confirmed the deaths and said that an investigation was being launched into the incident. The road where it occurred has also since been closed.

The learner who survived the accident is currently in hospital after receiving life-support care from paramedics at the scene.

Members of the local community expressed outrage at the incident, with several locals gathering at the scene of the accident. They were seen shouting and cursing at passing taxis.
