1. DJ Sbu

DJ Sbu is an icon. The DJ made numerous hits and was able to turn his talent into a top performing business. He produced music and even created an entire alter ego named Mzekezeke, who went on to sell thousands of albums as well (yes, that was DJ Sbu behind that Mzekezeke mask).

He went on to establish TS Records along with many other entrepreneurial projects like his Mofaya drink. According to The Net Worth Portal, he is worth about R27 million.

2. Oskido

Oskido, real name Oscar Bonginkosi Mdlongwa, has been in the game for a very long time. He too has legendary status in the music industry. His record label, Kalawa Jazmee Records, has gifted the nation with hit album after hit album. He is estimated to be worth around R27 million too.

3. Die Antwoord

Die Antwoord has enjoyed international fame, having toured both the USA and Europe. Did you know that they are signed to Jay Z’s record label Roc Nation? They are estimated to be worth a cool R56 million.

4. Rebecca Malope

This woman is a South African legend. Her career has spanned over 30 years and she is the queen of gospel music. She has released over 35 albums and has a successful gospel show, Gospel Time. She is reportedly worth R68,25 million – in the words of Malope herself, “Praise Guard!”

5. AKA

AKA is one of the country’s biggest musicians right now. He has scooped endless chart-topping hits and landed several endorsements.
