Dr Wynand Boshoff, the founder of Orania and leader of the Freedom Front Plus in the Northern Cape, isn't impressed with Eureka, the new whites-only settlement in the province. Boshoff says the founder of the newest settlement is towing a dangerous line.
The founder of Orania says that establishing a settlement exclusively for one race is walking a dangerous path.
The Freedom Front Plus leader in the Northern Cape responded to the news of the Eureka settlement, a 'whites-only' town in the province, by saying race and culture are not synonyms.
Briefly.co.za reported yesterday that the settlement had been encouraging people who wanted to join 'the fight against the uprooting of the white race' to sign up. They had even offered a free hectare of land to everyone who joined their movement.
According to IOL, Eureka has dubbed itself as a 'security town' where locals can “securely retire, live and work with their own schools, shops and medical services in their own mother language (Afrikaans) and rural culture”.
The settlement, situated outside Garies, is led by Adriaan Alettus Nieuwoudt, who describes himself as the 'official coordinator' of the Eureka Movement of South Africa.
