A young Venda teen created a website which educates other people about his culture and teaches them how to speak Tshivenda with the help of audio files.
The modernisation of the world has led to many cultures fading away. Young people have adapted new traditions and views as society evolved; and, if not checked, this poses the risk of a culture completely dying out.
Over the course of time, several languages, including Latin, have died and since been forgotten. However, one young man is making sure Tshivenda is not going anywhere.
A 16-year-old teen, who was identified by his Twitter handle @Unarine_Leo, created a website which educates people of the Venda culture and teaches them how to speak Tshivenda.
His story was shared on HeSouthAfrica's Twitter page on Wednesday.
"Meet 16 yr old Venda Based @Unarine_Leo who recently designed a website in where people can learn to speak Tshivenḓa with the help of audio; check places to visit & learn history of Venda people," part of the caption read.
Briefly.co.za gathered that aside from running this website, he also designs websites for other people.
Social media users were left inspired by the young man's story and they praised him for preserving his culture.
