- A video has made its way on social media which showed a man riding and dancing on a coffin
- The incident was reportedly filmed at a Free State gangster's funeral
- According to a cultural expert, the behaviour of the man would have angered the ancestors
South Africans have had their fair share of bizarre funerals, including the one were a rich kid was buried with his money while his friends poured out bottles of beer on his coffin.
But, just when we thought we had seen it all, another weird funeral goes viral. This time, a video was shared online which showed a man riding a gangster's coffin like a horse.
Not only did he hitch a ride, the man was also seen dancing and swinging a sjambok as the bearers made their way to the burial site.
Briefly.co.za gathered it was not revealed when the video was taken, but it is believed the incident took place at the funeral of a Free State gangster.
The Daily Sun obtained the video and asked for the opinion of a cultural expert. According to expert, Mtimande Ngwenya, the ancestors would not have been happy with the lack of respect shown in the video.
"When these ancestors are angry, they attack the nation," he said, adding:,"The ancestors woillretaliate."
Ngwenya went on to say this "thing" disrespects culture and does not allow the deceased to rest in peace.
The cultural expert believes South Africans' lack of 'humanity' and ability to make anything a joke is what has caused the dire situation in the country.
He claimed that the ancestors are angry over "things like this" and they take out their fury on the country, causing chaos.
